POSTGRADUATE MEDICAL PROGRAMS

Postgraduate Medical Programs

For Postgraduate Medical Programs, the Universities of Medical Sciences of Cuba give their warmest welcome to those interested in initiating academic formation and professional outreach studies and Post Graduate Programs in our island of the Caribbean Sea whose greatest treasure are its inhabitants and natural beauties, within a framework of tranquility and security citizens beyond compare in the world.

Cuba has 13 medical science universities, as well as multiple postgraduate (CEP) and health research centers for Postgraduate Medical Programs. Said programs offer the possibility of satisfying professional training and improvement at the request of governments, institutions, groups or individuals.

These academic institutions are authorized by the legal mechanisms established by the Cuban State for such purposes, under the direction of a Dean and with a categorized faculty, in certified scenarios, which gives the right to issue university certification documents of any level.

In Cuba, there is a National Accreditation System, whereby, in each university campus, the scenarios for training in the different careers and postgraduate studies offered are certified, to guarantee the fulfillment of the activities described in the syllabus. The syllabus is unique for the whole country, and its implementation is carried out equally for all.

The postgraduate medical health teaching activity in Cuba includes training in more than 50 medical specialties, 5 stemmatological, and 3 of nursing, which are offered to graduate of homonymous careers. Also, there are at least 10 master’s degrees for foreign students, although others may be offered, and five different types of doctoral programs in health sciences, in addition to other professional outreach activities such as courses, training, and graduates. In some cases, it is possible to complement training activities, especially in the practical field, which are carried out in universities in other countries.

As a principle, it is taken into account that, in training, the degree can be validated in the country from which the candidate comes from or intends to practice in. To that end, it is possible to add other contents and objectives in the syllabus, after conciliation with University authorities and Cuban Academic Services Authorities (CASA). Under no circumstances is the removal of content by request of the applicant, except those that are processed through the validations and sufficiency tests provided for in the postgraduate regulations.

For non-Spanish speaking students, it is necessary for a student to complete and pass the Spanish language course.

Other academic possibilities are available, just contact us, and together we can make them happen.

Welcome!
